Making progress!
Eric, who is has programmed some of the internal cockpit systems of the F18 fighter is on the team and has created some functional prototypes.
The key components we have to test are the button, LED control, Bluetooth communication with the smartphone, and the accelerometer.
It's not supposed to look pretty at this stage :) But, it feels good to have something physically working.

Prepping for Kickstarter launch - code named: "The Cube" - a "smart jewelry" device, the latest in wearable computing.
Well, months of work is coming together! Darren has finished the internal hardware component selection and preliminary component placement. He's working with the Bluetooth 4.0 developer kit to help finalize the detailed schematics and prep us for firmware development, too. Pablo, the case designer has done tons of iterations of the "look" for the cube. Igal, our partner jeweler at Mavrik, has kept us on track to "keep it simple". My wife, Layla, has given important feedback on aesthetics.
Tonight I go to a 3D Printing meetup and have pre-arranged to meet with some folks that can help with rapid prototyping. I have physical prototype that I've worn for a day and night developed by Wendy Rounds. It's definitely given me ideas on ways to make some final adjustments to make it better looking and create the functional prototype.
I'm continuing to prepare for the all-important video required of all good Kickstarter campaigns.
Follow along, and see how we plan and create the video and the rest of the Kickstarter campaign. We are creating something that isn't available on the market.
